    RT Sear and Classic rail

want to reduce the weight of my RT Pro, is there any reason an RT sear won't fit in a classic rail?

    thanks.

yes, it's not meant to fit in a classic rail

sorry, you'll need to get a classic sear/pin for the classic rail
the amount of labor needed to make it work just isn't worth the effort and will probably end up ruining a both a good rail and a good sear.

Yes. The RT sear pin is much wider than the classic sear pin, so the slot isn't big enough to hold it.

If I recall correctly the Automag RT valve is larger in diameter than all other AGD valves, so the body and valve will not fit into it.

The rail is not where you're picking up a lot of your weight anyway, that's coming from the stainless steel body and valve construction.

There's probably a few things you can do to relieve weight like trim down accessories, take off the steel gas line and replace it with macroline, etc... You can probably have some chunks milled out of your rail, but I don't think there's a lot of meat on the body to cut into.

Factoid, he is asking in regards to an RT Pro, not a Classic RT. RT Pro valves are the same as Classic, X valve, Emag ec. The Classic RT had the different sized valve. If he is asking about an RT Pro, it would have either an X-valve, or RT Pro valve.

you don't need an RT sear to run an RT/X valve. the classic sear will work fine.
