    AGD & First Strike rounds

has anyone set up a AutoMag for these ? One of the local event ( scenario ) producers is running " sniper " missions , using First Strike rounds
I was thinking of modding a classic body & either making a gravity or spring magazine
    Ideas anyone ??

easiest thing would be to make a rectangular 10 round tube. Either make is spring loaded or just gravity fed.

Stick it ontop of a ule body. Shoot, next round drops, shoot, etc...

Wouldn't you probably need to mod the barrel as well if you're using a classic body? I'm not sure the breech hole is big enough to hold one of those rounds...they seem a good 1.5 times as long as a normal paintball so you either have to slide them in at an angle which would be tricky with a mechanical setup, or make them drop in so they stay parallel with the barrel...which means modifying the breech.

I've never used one of these rounds though, just seen them in the shop. How much farther can they shoot?

didn't think about the barrel , i'm figuring the body & the barrel would have to be cut in a "D" shape , at this point I am also thinking about single round loading , with a twistlock this may not be so bad , hopefully i'll be picking up some of these today ( FSR's )
As far as shooting , I don't think it is the distance as much as the accuracy
            I don't think i'll be trying this on a ULE body $$$

Dont forget that the first strike is front heavy and has a tendancy to want to lay with the nose down. IMO best gun to first strike is an angel- Flip the breech open, load, close, lock. fire.

I was looking at doing this last year. I never really got rolling on it. My idea was to mount a T4 magazine over the breach of an Automag, obviously you will have to cut the breach to fit the first strike rounds. You will have to drill and tap holes or weld a mounting method for the magazine. I don't know about now, but last year there was a lot of T4 magazines selling for like $20 apiece on Ebay.

Good idea...now I need to pick up an angel.

I've been using first strike on my RTR Gargoyle with good result. I remove the feed and the breech cover and load the First Strike in by hand.

I think for a Mag that a twist lock barrel that is removed for each round would be efficient enough. Used properly the you would be plenty of far enough away to have time to reload. Also you could mount an empty hopper ready to be filled in case you wanted to run in close or switch to semi.

If you're gonna hand load them why not just breech load then? No need to modify anything...just get a stick-style squeegee and back feed the ball into your barrel.

And if you have a power feed body you could shut the powerfeed tube and keep regular balls in your hopper. Force-load your First Strikes and still be able to shoot semi when you want. Best of both worlds.

I was looking at an old SL68II that I have laying around. It already has a hole that seems like it would just have to be opened up a little. Push the pump handle back, load, slide forward, shoot.

I have also played with the idea of making a break barrel mag. This could be done quick and dirty with some hose clamps and a hinge. If you know how to weld (you being a mechanic) i'm sure you could make something that looks pretty clean real easy also.

I haven't shot a stainless steel bodied mag in a while but couldn't you remove the ball detent , the barrel pin and then replace the orings with larger diameter orings and then just pull the barrel out insert the first strike round and slide the barrel back in and shoot .
