How is the size consistency of the paint? That can have a really big affect on the velocity.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

I'm with athomas...the field I play at has lately had really bad paint and my velocity fluctuates from 270-285.

If I shoot high quality paint I'm in the 280-285 range just on paint. Also with a GA tank.

the GA tank is not terribly consistent but I think the paint is a bigger factor.

Yeah, the paint can be an issue. Shooting DXS silver. Don't think it's the paint since i ran it through my Droid with the same barrel with closer results. Ordered new orings. i'll try replacing the one mentioned above.

If the velocity is not creeping up, then the problem is probably not oring 31. If consistency is an issue, then the regulator parts are not moving consistently. The parts that affect this are the regulator piston assembly and the regulator valve pin assembly. Make sure to pull the regulator pin out and clean out the area that it sits in. Make sure those two orings separated by the split washer and the hole they sit in are nice and clean. Clean the back section of the valve. Dirt in the back section could interfere with the movement of the regulator piston assembly.

I've swapped out that oring to fix velocity issues like this before.

Here's a link to the "How to chrono a RT valve" page.
