    My mag sploded

So, cleaning it up and oiling it, getting ready to play tomorrow. Everything's assembled and time to dry fire test. Rip about 100 rounds then a torrent of air comes down the bolt and doesn't stop until the trigger's held down. Notice my springs a bit short (old) so I put a new one on, and take the lvl 10 off to take a shim out when I notice this:

And there's a fine copper powder all around the bumper and the area that contacts that of the bolt...... what the

I have an IT body and some people have said there were tolerance issues, could this be one? The only way I see this scrapping down is if the bolt goes so far forward it goes past tip and catches on the return...that's not supposed to happen though, is it?

Some days I think I should of stuck w/ my problem free 'cockers....

p.s. now it's chuffing every once and a while and the bolt doesn't reset.

is the power tube mushroomed out where it meets the tip ? , tip also looks very worn , that may be your powder , possible bent stem in your bolt ??

It does look like the end of the bolt is hitting the power tube tip. I don't know if it is actually going past the end of the powertube, but it is definately going sideways when it reaches the end. I've seen this before on a similar body. I just can't remember what the cause was.

If you're getting leaking you should put in a smaller carrier for your level 10. Keep the same o-ring though.

Can't say what caused the grinding. Could be bad alignment. Don't know much about that particular body. Does it have a rail bushing? That causes problems on standard bodies and rails if they're missing.

Ck to see if that body has the ring and washer in it

You might have just blew through the breach of the body.

ring and washer are in and in good shape......if i take my lvl 10 off my other gun and put it on this one, it just slides down over w/ no resistance from the o ring at all, i try the lvl 10 from the gun i'm having problems with to the other one, and it slides down w/ alot of resistance

Is it just me, or does that power tube look bent in those pictures?

Is the valve tight when the field strip screw is tight? Make sure it doesn't rock at all. If it does, check the length of the field strip screw.

It seems like your bolt stem may be bent. It does happen with age. Replace the bolt with the other assembly and see if it works in the mag. A bent bolt stem can cause the problems you listed. I'd say replace the bolt and you should be alright once again.
