chopped-down standard-feed as a warp body?

Has anyone here tried using a chopped down standard-feed body as a warpfeed body? I picked up a body cheap that had the feed tube cut down to 1/2 inch for use with an aftermarket powerfeed.

Or is this a horrible idea that will fail before it gets started? (aka Don't order the warpfeed, krafty, 'cause that will suck big-time!)

You can easily buy a powerfeed body and replace it. i seem em for $30.
