Has anyone ever tried building an Automag with the gas line running through the frame? Like on newer Intimidators or the Luxe? Could it be done with microline or some other way? Especially on a pneumag? If so, how can you build one, anyone with knowledge on how its done?

He basically tapped a new port in the bottom of his X-valve and ran a line from the asa to the valve through the frame
oh yeah, he also custom machined his frame too
It's really tough to do if you use the standard mounting holes on a frame because you won't have any clearance behind the sear where your airline would need to be.
So short answer is, yes, it can be done but takes a bit of modification and creativity

How would you connect the valve to the gasline, though? Would you just put some kind of o-ring on the valve and let the field strip screw hold it down? Seems like that would be very prone to leaking. Otherwise you'd have to probably unscrew your grips and get inside with a wrench to unhook your valve to remove it.
So much for field stripping.

I dont know, I dont even know if its feasible. But according to some people it is. It seems some guys have done it. I would like to see what they say before I even attempt such a project. I am most worried about screwing up the valve if anything. Especially when it comes time to drill.

It almost looks like it goes into the frame itself. And then to the automag some how. As though the frame itself has been drilled to be part of the gas line. That looks like some tight tolerances for a mod.

I'm pretty sure he ran macroline through there
Hopefully he chimes in here soon
also, you can see from the way the solenoid is positioned, the sear leg was cut off to make more room.
This mod is not for the weak of heart
(unless you have a spare X you don't mind drilling)

Gas Through ???
Good morning AO. People have been asking if not begging for AGD/TK to put out something new for a while now, but when you have built the perfect gun there is not much you can improve on.You can however change the configuration of how the gun is set up. Congratulations to all the guys who have had success building aftermarket frames for the Mag and to all who have found new ways to "drive" the AutoMag valve. The Mag is without a doubt the most versatile gun out there. The only thing I could think of to make my Mag different and unique was to have no external air lines like the newer guns on the market.The only way to do this was to move the rail,body and valve forward so that the air input was even with the grip frame.... Thanks to Loguzzzz for showing us how to do that....By mounting the body and valve directly to the rail independent from the grip frame he was then able to drill additional holes in the rail and move everything forward...I just went further forward so I could run a line through the grip. The hardest thing to do was convince myself to drill a new air inlet hole in a perfectly good X Valve...Scarry...There is not a lot of room to work with as the field strip screw hole is very close to the air chamber.Because of this it was not possible to drill a standard 1/8" npt hole in the bottom of the valve.I bought a s/s fitting that was 1/8" npt female to smaller male and drilled the hole to accept this fitting.I screwed a straight macroline fitting to this and was in business.Originally I ran a direct mount on off with a short macro line so that there would be no external airlines but I hated the way the gun was unbalanced and went back with a drop forward mount.
It is important to note that I believe this is only going to work with an electronic / pneumatic / or ep set up. As far as I can tell the solenoid will have to be mounted verticle and the sear arm cut off. It is also important to note that I built my trigger frame from scratch and it is a full 1" wide so there is alot of room to work with.

Yeah, maybe this might not be possible for me. I would be worried too much of screwing something up. Especially drilling into the valve. I figured there wouldnt be a whole lot of room for error. A 1/8 fitting looks too large to fit inside there. Maybe there would be a way to put it through the inside first, then out to the side of the frame, and then connect it to the standard hole on the valve? Kind of like the external hose and fittings of a response trigger on a Tippmann.
