    Emag powering Halo

So after getting all my parts from Mongoose I got my Emag put back together. an I wanted to power my Halo v35 with my new KC 1000mha Battery, So I wire in a 9v regulator and everything is volting out fine and in the right direction.

I Charged the battery last night and it was around 20v got air today to test everything out.

My halo was doing fine for the first 100 shots or so then the light starts flashing like it dose when the AA's are low.

I turn it off and back on again, at this point there are no paintballs in the hopper so it just spins but it was really slugish.

Reset everything again and it seemed fine.

the emag battery still tested at 19V after I shot a pod full.

I'm guessing I should have put a Cap in with the volt regulator. what size do I need? room is not a problem as I have the whole battery bay in the halo to store it with the Volt regulator.

Or my new emag Battery is not working properly?

If it was working then you wired it correctly, and if the Emag is still working then the battery is fine. These voltage regulators however are only good for about 1 amp. I dont know the current drain on the Halo motors, but I do know that motors do have a large inrush current spike when they initially start spinning. This inrush current could (im not saying it is, but it could) be damaging the voltage regulator. Try a new voltage regulator and see what happens, also, as youre testing it, hold the regulator to see how hot it gets, if its hot, a small heatsink will help, but keep it away from the plastic. A standard 9V reg (7809) will push 1 amp by itself and about 1.2 amps with a heatsink.

As for capacitors, the bigger the better but there is a limit. Go for AT LEAST a 1000 uF cap, if you can find 3300 uF or 6800 uF, use one of those. You can find 1 F capacitor but they have a long charge time.

Make sure you have the polarity of the capacitor correct! When they go, they go out with a bang!

PM me if you need a capacitor or regs

Check your connections, especially if you are using the 9v snap connectors. They are notorious for being a bad point of contact.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
