    Chrome Plating Guns

So i was up at like 4:30 flicking through the channels when i came across a program on chrome plating. This guy was chrome plating leaves and sinks and stuff and i looked over across my room at my dull grey bashed up and scratched powerfeed mag and dreamed of having a beautiful shiny chrome mag. So i looked up Plating in the phone book and it turns out i can have my trigger-frame, main body, base rail elbow and revy chrome plated for $100 canadian (around $60 american. The Plating is thin and shouldn't affect anything so does i'm getting it done. I just wanted to post this so others wound know a good way to customize their guns.

That's cool. When you get it done, please post a few pics. I'm interested in seeing how it turns out.

          what up,

Yes it can be done fairly cheaply. My entire RT is high-polish nickel plated (except for the black benchmark gripfame) and shoots as good as it looks. Be careful though that whoever does the plating knows what he is doing. If you bring your body or rail to some guy who does industrial or commercial plating he might just dip the whole thing, this is bad. The parts need to be prepped first to ensure that plating does not enter the inside of the body, nor does it get in any threaded holes. If it does, this will change tolerances dramatically and can hurt the performance of your marker. So make sure he knows what he is doing.

"Men think they think upon great politcal questions, and they do; but they think with their party, not independently; they read its literature, but not that of the other side; they arrive at convictions, but they are drawn from a partial view of the matter in hand and are of no particular value. They swarm with their party, they feel with their party, they are happy in their party's approval; and where the party leads they will follow, whether for right and honor, or through blood and dirt and a mush of mutilated morals."
