Palmers Stabilizer Mod inplace of valve parts??

I had gotten a little wind that a Palmers Stabilizer when screwed in could be used inplace of some of the valve parts on a mag (removal of some innards)?? Where could I find some info on this? Or is this completely ludicris?

If you use a classic valve, any regulator can be used in place of the built in reg. Just be aware that they may not have the same flow rate, especially since the down stream low pressure air has a longer restricted path to get to the front chamber. To gut a valve, just remove the regulator seat oring and the regulator valve pin.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

There are also some mods I've seen where the stock regulator was removed entirely and the valve was capped.

My understanding of these mods is that you don't get much out of them. The stock regulator is pretty decent.
