RT Classic and Pro/ReTro/Xvalve Internals Compatibility

    Hi All,

I just got an older classic RT in great condition, but in need of a valve rebuild. Are any of the original RT internals different from the ReTro and newer valves? I know that many of the external parts are different (bodies, rails, trigger frames due to banjo bolt diameter, etc) and I know that the bolts and powertube parts are the same. What I want to know is: are there any differences in the regulator valve pin assemblies, the regulator pistons/nuts/inner&outer springs/seat holder, the on/off valve, and anything I may have forgotten? What about orings, aside from those on the banjo bolt?

In short, what parts are specific to just the classic RT valves? Just the sear and banjo bolt?

Do ReTro/Xvalve owners use the same RT parts kit?

    Thanks for your help!

The RT Classic valve is a different diameter than all other AGD valves so at least some of the parts are going to be different, like the reg body o-ring for example...but I think many are the same. The valve pin, piston and springs are all the same per Tunamart's catalog.

The Retrovalve and XValve parts kits are almost identical except that the xvalve kit comes with a spring and o-rings for the level 10 bolt.

      Thanks for the info, factoid.

I noticed in the RT tech video that the original classic RT valves had air valve style reg seats and reg pistons. Mine (sn in the 5000s) appears to have the same parts as the Xvalve.

The reg body oring and reg nut couid be the same between classic and recent valves if AGD kept the same internal dimensions. I have nothing to compare to, though.
