CF FRame ASA Screw placement

So I'm trying to mount my CP on/off to my CF frame and it seems that the screw holes are just a few mm long. I have 2 CF frames and this is the case for both of them. For my metal frame though, it fits......although I have a screw that broke off inside of it so I can't use it now.

Is this normal for the screw placement to be off?

I have had several CF frames and have never had problems with any drop forward or asa fitting, I even run a highly modified CF frame on my marker (basically a home made Y/Z grip) but it still uses the bottom of the original CF frame. But then again I have never owned or tried to mount a CP asa.
