It's very similar to the R/T Pro valve, except that it uses a standard on/off.

I believe the Retro valve and RT Pro valve use the same on/off....

Really? I thought the "ReTro" had a different on/off, whereas the RT Pro is essentially identical to the X-valve except with more stainless steel... Maybe I'm nuts. There was a standard valve capable of RTing that wasn't to RT Pro specs, wasn't there?

Lettering on the valve is basically all the difference from the RT Pro, Micro and Retro valves. I know some RT Pros will accept a ULT. Only thing stopping the Retro is someone to drill the on/off cavity.

Ah that's what I was thinking of, so it's just ULT compatibility. I know that the "RT Pro" branded valves take the ULT as a drop in and obviously any recent incarnation of them does as well.

so i take it the retro valve is a good upgrade to a classic valve?
also would it work well with a pneu-frame?

Just make sure its not the original RT valve that has a gas through mounting screw. You would need the RT original rail then too I believe.

It's not. He said it's a ReTro valve.
