    Bolt stick

I know this has been asked but cant seem to find it so

Working on my x valve, lv X and high pressure input. The gun will rt for about 5 to 6 shots then the bolt will stick, push the bolt back 5-6 shots same thing.

Unsure of the exact output from the bottle, could that be causing the bolt stick? Maybe to high input?

    Any suggestions would help.

    Thanks again!!

      Bolt Stick

Well this isnt a chuff the bolt is actually getting stuck in the forward position, where if u look into the feed tube u can see the bolt. I have to take a wooden dowel and physically push the bolt back.

Is this what you mean by chuffing?

I don't have to regas the gun to get it to fire just push the bolt back .

The bolt wasn't resetting completely so it would chuff. In my case I had to re-tune the L-10 and then trim the bolt spring to get it to run at the velocity I needed.

Just thought I might point you to the thread in case it might save you some time. The previous thread "RT tuning" also covered L-10 adjustments which I believe relate directly to bolt stick.

What spring are you using? Your current spring may be worn.

            Spring

I was using the black spring and after sticking thru a tank of air. Changed to the long spring and still had the bolt stick.

What causes this? is it the pressure wedging the bolt into the breech of the barrel?

Everything I've read so far indicates that; barring an obstruction that impedes the bolts forward movement, bolt stick relates to the power tube O-ring carrier. If the carrier is too small it will increase friction and cause it to stick, so you have to re-tune using the largest carrier that doesn't leak.

i'm no expert, but that's how I fixed mine.

                    Carrier o ring

                    Super,
Now thinking of it. So what your saying is ,The o ring is putting too much pressure on the powertube for it to return. So larger carrier, Should free the bolt for return.

The Guys at the shop I was at thought the tank was putting out to much pressure. And thus look at where I'm at.

                    Will go home and try.

                    Thanks Again

Yes that's exactly it. Using the same o-ring, install the largest carrier that doesn't leak.
I'm running higher pressure also. I don't believe this will be an issue.
