    Is there a feedneck trick?

I bought a ule body off craigslist, and it is in perfect condition with an aftermarket NDZ feed neck. However, I have an AKA feed neck that is lower profile and well...it's AKA, nuff said. The problem is that the feed neck won't come off. They are not reverse threaded are they? I tried a little heat and a strap wrench but the thing won't budge. Any recommendations?

They are not reverse threaded. Sometimes people loctite those things and they can be a bear to get off without scratching. Good luck. You can try wrapping the feedneck in leather, like a belt of something and use a pipe wrench or channel locks. As a last resort, drill a hole through the feedneck and put a screw driver in it to twist it off.

I'd rather not damage it if I can help it. Some one may want it. How much heat do you have to give it for loctite? 500 degrees? Will anything short of a torch get that hot?

Just clap on your hopper and twist it off. That's how I get mine off. Works 100%.

I did that once and ended up having to replace the shells on my halo when the feedtube broke into about 4 pcs.

Lol...Your feedneck was probably cracked already, I've never had that happen.

Best to do it with a thick neck hopper like a halo.

I missed that. Clap on, clap off? That would be the next great paintball invention.

And mine was a Halo. But yeah, I think it was possibly cracked already. Torqued me off, because it turned my $30 value find into not that great a value when I had to go buy a new set of shells.

Try putting the feedneck between two 2x4s. Screw the 2x4s together to make a wooden clamp (I used my cordless impact driver). Then twist the body like a T-handle.

Turn the body upside down, find a bench vice with a couple scrap pieces of 2x4

secure the feedneck, then turn the body, although turning 2x4's would give more torque

Replaced mine just this week. Clamped the body in a soft jaw vice, wrapped the feedneck with a piece of an old rubberized place mat (a slice of bicycle inner tube would also do fine) and twisted it off with clamping pliers. No marks or damage and it came off no problem.

You could also disassemble the gun entirely and drop the body in boiling water to break the locktight.

Boiling water...that would have been easy. I finally did it when I went home for lunch. I set up a candle flame on it and left to make a sammich(more fun to say it that way). Brought the sammich back and proceeded to eat it while I watched the flame. With a lot of torque and a good set of leather gloves (the body was hot), and a bench vice, I finally got the sucker off. Loads of loctite. Miraculously, I didn't scratch the body or feedneck, kind of a first. Just missing a few pieces of skin.

I've got a $12 heat gun from Harbor Freight for these types of things. Open flame against my marker would make me cringe.

When mine got stuck I just used the hopper trick. There was no locktite involved, though. Some people tend to go a little crazy with the threadlocker, IMO.

They are, and yes, I took it out. I wasn't took happy about an open flame, but I made sure it only hit the feed neck, not the body.
