HELP! ANS Xtream Flow Valve for 68classic

I've searched all over this site for an answer so please bare with me if i missed it somewhere else. I recently bought an ANS Xtream Flow Valve for my 68 classic. Apon install the gun leaked like never before so i put the original part back in and problem solved. I want to utalize this new flow valve but I think I may be installing it incorrectly. The side with the flat bottom goes towards the 2 top on/off oring.
