trying to fix ACE board..

My ace board fried and I've discovered through a volt meter that the chip circled in the picture is shot.


the arrow pointing from the switch to one of the chip pins is where I've soldered a + bridge to bypass this chip to get power to the main board for it to work.

would i be right in thinking that this is a 18v regulator chip that needs to be replaced? and if so will this chip in the link be sufficient for it's replacement.?

You may want to check the numbers on the chip, it seems to me it could be 5V regulator not 18V.
If it is just a 18v reg then the one you linked may not work as well since it can only handle 100ma of current, which seems low for an xmag.

That part is an exact match to the data sheet information.... it looks like the same company.
