    Optional feed necks for ULE

Alright this is a odd ball question. ULE's are angel threaded right? Right. What other markers are angel threaded?
Reason I ask is over the weekend iwas goofing off and looking at my sons stock invert mini feedneck. Being cheap and needing a clamping feed neck i tried it and it fit. I removed his Empire Nano feedneck from his mini and it also threaded with no problem.
Threads mesh and have same pitch when both the ULE neck and mini necks are put togheter.
So my question is why is there is no cross refference or whatever saying these all have same thread pithch, count, and depth. I know the ION is also threaded the same what others are there

Ion threading isnt Angel threading. They are close, but not the same. Its like the difference between British Pipe Tap and National Pipe Tap.

You will find some tolerance issues with various feed necks, on top of the different specs. While a fat ION feedneck might feel alright, I've read of some getting pulled out with the accompanying thread damage.

Sometimes the neck is designed for a taper fit, sometimes it is designed for a shoulder fit. Even the aftermarket necks that are designated for a particular marker may be of a different design.

For instance, I have an ICD Lasoya promaster. You can still buy ICD feed necks from CCM and AKA. However, the CCM feedneck that came with it had no shoulder like you see in the original feedneck drawing. You could screw it all the way down to the bolt (it had more than enough threading). An A+ angel/ULE feedneck was threaded right, but the shoulder was too low for good thread engagement. I trimmed the shoulder back about 1/16" and it fits with firm threading all the way down. Matching threads, but neither feedneck fit properly as they were purchased.

If you have one laying around and know what good threads feel and look like, it's worth trying. You want to check the whole fit, not just that it stays on the marker. Otherwise, if you're buying a feedneck, it's best to stick with one that was made for the body.

The ugliest problem is when they change the feed neck on a marker, like the new Angel feed neck threads. For a while there, they sold 'Angel/Ion threads' that were not for older angels (still do?). I think that is related to a taper like Rogue mentioned.

I tried both the original and the Empire nano that is currently on it. Both had about the same amount of play left and right and such as the threads engaged each other. Feed neck shoulder ended up sitting nearly flush with the body. When view form the front threads were all the way down in the hole with no gap visible. Guess we'll see this weekend.
        Thanks for the replys
