    mpa-3 question

setting up my EP mag, and my mpa-3 piston returns slower then I thought it would, is this normal? do I need to oil it?

    thanks!

I've never heard of a slow return. Does it still have the return spring in it?

They do need some oil. Beyond that, if the ram itself is free to move, then you either have a blocked vent port or a leak through the noid.

    Which solenoid are you using?

Now that I think about it, that is where my hypodermic needle full of oil came from. Mine never got sticky, but I oiled it anyway.

Be sure you are running less than about 70 psig, which is the operating limit on the SMC-70, iirc. I lube my ep mag with superlube airtool oil, which is very light.

        Doh! hose kink!

not a hose kink, its doing this out side of the frame, haven't even mounted it yet, but I do need to get a 90 fitting or drill a new port hole in the bottom cause it will kink where I plan on putting it with just a straight fitting...

Yeah, that's the beauty of pneumags, they still like oil.
