    Rental Mag help....

I just purchased a rental mag with LVL 7 bolt and read up on them... they only do 250-260 fps i read... but i also read that you can drill/bore the PT for more flow? is this true?

and i would appreciate it if anybody could help me with advice on how to upgrade this mag. so far since i've got the rental, i've also bought 3 bodies, 1 gas thru bike grip, a rail, CF frame, double trigger, vert ASA, and an AA barrel back.

i will be buying another valve here in the future... probably a classic, then i can put another mag together. my uncle has a powdercoating business so i'll be restoring/customizing any parts that are beat up.

What else can i do to upgrade this mag? anything i can do to the valve? any help would be much appreciated. thanks.

i had no problem reaching 280 fps (field limit) with my rental valved mag, just had to put a small washer into the end of the velocity adjuster knob (aka regulator nut).

yea, thanks guys. eventually i'll find me an x-valve but i don't have that kinda cash to be dishing out right now. i'll just try the washer then.

The washer will get you more chamber pressure for a higher velocity, but you run the risk of reaching the overpressure limit of the piston assembly. You can drill out the powertube so that it works the same as a normal AIR valve.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
