What can you tell me about this micromag?

Anybody remember me?

I saw something on craigslist I couldn't pass up and had to call my mom because i'm a poor student to ask to borrow money because i saw a money making opportunity. well she let me have 100 bucks, and i came home with this! So stoked! i dunno about selling it, i kinda wanna keep it now lol! I haven't owned a mag since like 2006-07, and haven't played paintball since 2009 so I'm out of the loop. and strictly played tourney pump for 4 years before I stopped.

Ignore the goofy reverse drop set up, its all I had to make it air up lol.

It came with a 14" dye aluminum in pristine condition, and it appears to be a red nights anno. From what I can gather its an original micromag body and not an imitation, and the valve has matching numbers. Came without a bolt.
I paid 20 bucks shipped for a bolt and two springs. Airs up with no leaks!!! now to solve the bolt stick and maybe get a new sear since I was told it may have been filed down. Its bouncy!! oh and the bolt sticks 2-3 mm into the chamber when aired up, thats not right is it? i can't remember.

my concerns are:
-the blue writing on the valve and low serial number.
-double trigger.
-what year was it made?
-what would you do first to get it shooting right?

It's a Gen 4, with the original Benchmark double frame. The valve isn't original, and my guess would be that the laser-engraved lettering started to oxidize so someone filled it in with nail polish or a touch-up paint pen (fairly common). To get it working I'd rebuild the valve ($20) and buy yourself an HPA tank with an 850psi+ output.

I don't consider that to be accurate. I've owned well over 50 Micromags and this is what I consider "official" Micromag body generations and stats, bearing in mind that some were sold in different configurations and kits with different frames and ano patterns available to teams and stores.

Gen 1:
-powerfeed
-squared back
-flat top
-plastic detente
-no foregrip mount
-fixed barrel

Gen "1.5":
-powerfeed
-squared back
-flat top
-plastic detente
-no foregrip mount
-barrel cut and tapped to AC threads

Gen 2:
-powerfeed
-squared back
-dovetail top
-plastic detente
-foregrip mount
-factory AC threads

Gen 3:
-powerfeed
-squared back
-dovetail top
-milled detent
-foregrip mount
-factory AC threads

Gen 4:
-powerfeed
-wing back
-dovetail top
-milled detent
-foregrip mount
-factory AC threads

Gen 5:
- STO centerfeed
-winged back
-raised dovetail

Gen 6:

Those are the major body styles, though some Gen 3 models had threaded sear pins and some don't, and some (very rare) late Gen 5 models had a threaded removable feedneck. The reason I include Gen "1.5" is that a few of the major airsmiths of that era offered the service, and many guns (private and team alike) were ordered raw, modified, then sent to PK Selective for the same custom ano jobs offered by PTP (through PK).

i'm surprised it was shooting. according to the rt valve exploded diagram for the classic bolt, which i have, i'm missing part #13, the powertube spacer.

it takes a standard AM/MM sear correct? just making sure thats what i'm looking at here.
on the sear i don't see any filing done to the internal portion... how long should the threaded SS portion of the pin extend out past the clamp-like linkage arm?

what would be the correct sear pin to replace the ugly screw?

nice lookin MicroMag! hey get ahold of Robertsr for more info on MicroMags! i have the same MicroMag but black and both the original and Retro MicroMag Valves, a 2000 black vert fed MicroMag with a Retro MicroMag valve, and a MM2K9 with a E-Maxx Valve! would like to add a nice Anno'd MicroMag to my collection tho...haha...one day!

Well if you decide to part the valve out to Hill I have a classic SS GFX valve that I could get to him to swap it out so that you still have a working marker... but I doubt you'll go there...

I personally think it'd look better with a full on X Valve on it...

you dont already? I snagged an x-valve from someone for $25 plus shipping... with FULL lvl 10 kit. Also grabbed a mag lot for $600 (quite an investment) but made all my money back parting it out. AND I kept an x-valve, a brand new Alpha Logic rail, brand new centerfeed dye boomstick, 3 carbon tanks and some other odds and ends. I love craigslist! Oh yeah I also got my outboard racing engine for $450 (easily worth over $2k).

anyway, NICE snag, keep an eye out on craigslist!

a few different threads i'v seen lead me to believe red nights.

usually i'm not so lucky on craigslist; i find people selling classic mags for 350 unwilling to budge on the price. but now i'm happy

an x-valve would be awesome, but i'm kinda liking the stainless simply for the OG factor, as well as the low serial number.
this was my last mag. it started as a bone stock classic and evolved just a little bit. has anybody seen it around lately?

Well I cant make out the serial number but there are many rt pros around like that, ive bought and sold a few over the last few years, after upgrading the trigger frame with pneumatics. Ive got another one in the works right now, just a few more parts to complete it.

oh and thats a nice micro you have there...
