ULE custom trigger sear - How do you disassemble it?

I ordered a frame and a custom trigger sear from a fellow here on A.O. The new trigger sear does not have the piece that goes in the hole on the part of the sear that catches the bolt/triggers the on/off (as opposed to the other piece; the rod part that sticks in behind the trigger). It's the hole through which the pin goes to hold the sear in place, and around which the swingy part of the sear pivots. My question is, how do I remove said piece from my other trigger sear so I can install it on the new sear? Does in unscrew, or do I simply pry it off?

    Thanks :).

Don't. There's two types of sear, the newer RT sear and the older classic sear. The new RT sear has a brass bushing which a smaller pin screws into the rail and goes through. The Classic style has no bushing and pivots on a larger pin which sets in a recess in the rail.

Even if you drilled the bushing out of your RT sear, you might find it doesn't fit the classic style anyway.

Ah... then what I must do is ADD a bushing to the sear that I have to make it fit my gun. Can I get something appropriate at Lowe's or do I need to order it from somewhere special? It's a Luke's Customs sear, I really want to use it.

It took me a couple of reads to figure out exactly what you're saying.

Newt is correct. Don't do anything to it.
It sounds like you have an AM/MM sear and you want to put it in an RT-style rail. It's not gonna happen. Even if you manage to buy your own bushing at a hardware store, it's going to be a hack and could cause you problems later.

Not sure what your setup is like but either use an AM/MM style rail or get an RT sear.

This is probably your best bet.

Or just get a different sear... it's easy enough to get a different sear if you have the rail and gun set up the way you want... but again pics of everything will help alot to verify what we are all talking about to make sure we are telling you proper... but yeah it sounds like you are trying to put a classic sear in an RT rail or vice versa.

As for that bushing... DON"T take it out... I don't think it's meant to easily at all without damage as everyone has said... but now that I think about it I want to know how it went together..
