ULE pin size? Rapid Fire Problem

I got a new ULE and the pin length is .7375

With no shims in the ULE, and no shims in the LX, it's still rapid firing. I'm perplexed?

With 3 shims in each, it still rapid fires.

    Is the pin length wrong?

    Thank you.

what happens if you remove a shim? Also, be sure you're using the ULT shims which are .005" thick versus the LX shims which are .01

First thing, oil it. Add a few drops to the QD at the valve and shoot it out.
If that don't fix it. Pull the shims out of your ULT, see what you get.
A bad seal at the reg pin assy can also give you this problem.
Ck your reg pin assy. Remove it, clean out the cavity, ck the orings, replace them if needed and reinstall.

It came with 3 shims in the middle of the on\off. I tried it with and without them, that's why I'm thinking it's the pin size?

I will try it. What's the QD?

Quick disconnect. This wouldn't happen to be a milled ReTro valve, would it?

The normal pin lenght is .750 so yours is too short. You can take the pin apart and use soldering wire to take up a bit of space in the botom part of the pin to increase the length.

Negative bro. Some of the RT on/offs are .750. The ULTs are .735-.740 (depending on where you bought your calipers )

djinnform - Do as Ando recommends. Sounds like you might have a bad reg pin oring or some dirt or something in there. If the reg pin doesnt seal, the reg doesnt regulate properly.

Will this gun still malfunction with a RT on/off?

Yes. I put the regular on/off back in, and it's still rapid firing. I guess it's not the ULT after all. I had recently put a different Level 10 on it, could I have screwed it up changing the level 10?

Is the reg pin the part where the two halfs of the valve meet in the middle, in between the two serial numbers?

pictures of it disassembled with all parts and maybe a video from gas up to gas down would help us diagnose it.

It could also be a sear rod that is to long and hitting the trigger on the return, or a missing/forgotten sear axle screw/pin.

What does it do when the trigger is held?

when the trigger is held, it keeps rapid firing, indefinately

That's actually pretty sweet. Mine runs out of air after just a few thousand cycles.

after 3 hours of trial and error with on\offs and re-tuning the level X, it turned-out to be what BigEvil said, i changed the 2 o rings in the back of the valve, where the two halves meet, they had turned yellow, i put fresh white ones in

it was completely un-related to the ULE-ULT or the on\off pin, or level X

                              thank you everyone
