Just picked this up and have a couple questions.

    Howdy all,

I just picked this up and i haven't had a mag in a long time. Here is a picture, then i have a couple questions:

    1. This frame is gawd awful ugly at the moment, any suggestions for pretty'ing it up? (I.E. a shroud or spacer to make the front flush)
    2. Do you think there is room in this frame for a pneumag setup? or possibly something more exotic?
    3. Any ideas on what its worth as it sits?
    4. It has the x valve, lvl x bolt, ule body and clamping feed; any other upgrade suggestions?
5.Any other suggestions or comments are welcome. Thanks!!!

Is that a mechanical or E frame? Are you having any problems with it shooting...it looks like it would be out of spec with that large gap in the front.

      1) do you know what kind of frame that is? My solution would be JB Weld and Duracoat.

You could probably go EP or pneumag. Again, curious about what frame that is.

Upgrades: what kind of barrel is that? Hopper? Other than that, you're pretty much set.

I think it's a PM6 frame... not 100% though. I'm sure either a PM or DM of some gen.

Is it running mech currently? Or is it set up inside the frame as a pnue already?

devilman had it, its a PM6 (u can see the proto jewel on the grip). looks like its mech, the sear arm sticking out of the grip like that and i see no evidence of it having a LPR anywhere unless they drilled the asa and the asa mounts and the frame, etc...

could be one bad EP mag when ur done...

Hey Pudgey.. check out the "sear arm" though. It's not just a metal rod. It looks like a piece of macroline sticking out. I agree that it's more than likely mech, because I don't see any LPR routing and such as that, but then I can't tell what the "macro" piece is either. Unless it's just a collar that is being used to shim the sear arm to take the slop out and keep it inline with the trigger.

Me personally... I wouldn't bother with making that frame fit, but try and find a PM5 frame or one that has the flat top on it to work with. I would never like that gap and don't think it'd be the best for wear and tear either. But that's me.

Yeah, some dye/proto gen is my guess too.

The only thing that would worry me is alignment. It's going to throw off the geometry every time you remove the frame with the curve there.

Thanks for all of the quick responses!! It is a pm6 frame and it is Straight mech right now. Also, yes it appears to be macroline or some sort of shim to prevent slop and probably dirt/paint from getting all up in the frame. I have no idea why they chose this particular frame. I literally just took it out of the box. I did air it up and it seems to function just fine. i was asking because i really don't like the way the frame looks. However, it is VERY comfortable...

EP would be short for Electro (Electronic) Pneumatic... Meaning it uses air to fire and the electro board and noid and such to cycle... in a round about way.

I think the barrel is just an old school stock style WGP one.... It looks like it's unported...

ya know, i thought it looked jacked up...couldnt put my finger on it tho...def knew it was thicker but couldnt begin to guess what it actually was...whoever sold u this grim had some strange vision, or just a bunch of parts left over and desperately wanted to play.

in response to links, there r quite a few around here, give me a min and i might be able to find one...

i cant find any detailed how-tos or anything, its all basically the same just varies from frame to frame. i havent completed one on here yet but someone else might have a direct link to their build page...

If doing a ep mag most use a 05/06 ego frame. Doing an pnue you can use just about any frame. Look under tech forum, hill did a great write up in the one he made.

You definatley have a good start there. If your not happy with the frame that is as good a reason as any to start tinkering with it. There are several options for frames out there to keep it mechanical (inteliframes, 90* Chimerra frames, M/90 frames etc.). Or you could make it Electronic ( V.E.R. Frames, E Blades, or E Mag lowers). You could make it a Pneumag with several frames or make an EP Mag with the Ego frames. Good Luck with it
