Looking at building a pack, but would like to know the required fuse rating.

You need to have 3A of capacity, so go with a 4.5A fuse. A 5A fuse will be fine. That will give you short circuit protection. The components can handle that amount without damage.
If you want to fuse for the absolute max value of the battery pack, you will need to know the rating of the batteries that you are using.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts. -
