Plug the hole on a lvl10 bolt stem = level 7 bolt?

The landlord is here fixing my sink, so I'm sitting around bored and thinking. (usually a dangerous combination) I was wondering if you plugged the vent hole on the stem of a lvl10 bolt, would it null the anti-chop and function like a regular level 7? The idea came about by building a pumpmag, but only having a classic valve with a lvl10 on it. I am thinking if I can figure out how to temporarily plug that vent, I could have a valve that can be either lvl10 or lvl7 at will.

It would still be a level 10 and operate that way, except without the vent hole it wouldn't be able to reset after a chuff or breach block.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

I have a LX bolt that for some reason the center hole was not bored deep enough , so the center & side vent never meet , IIRC it would shoot once then very very slowly recock , took me a while to figure out what was going on

would it work if you plugged the hole and swapped the powertube tip & internals? Cool question Hobbez

Like a level 10 that needs shims, a lot of them.

Yep, except the shims would have to push the carrier back to the edge of the stem instead of the vent hole, and the powertube isn't deep enough inside for that to happen.
