Is there a method to setting trigger stops? So I have 2 mags with trigger stops. One is a Retro Valve Pneumag and the other is a X-Valved ULT On/Off with a RPG Splinter Pro trigger. I was thinking to find exactly where in the trigger pull stroke that the valve cycles and set the screws there. Am I on the right track here?
How to set trigger stops?

On a mag, you just need to set the rear travel stop right where the sear reliably trips. That will keep you from stuffing the on/off pin further into the top o-ring.
If you use a pre-travel or take-up screw at all, you still need to keep the gap between the back of the trigger and the trigger rod. Otherwise, your sear may not be fully engaged and you may be keeping the on/off pin from dropping all the way down to clear the top o-ring well. It's like having a trigger rod adjusted out too far. If you can't work the safety after setting the pre-travel, you can adjust the trigger rod instead.
On the pneu, set the pre-travel just a little before the msv starts to flow, unless you have a safety you want to use. Set the rear stop at least a millimeter after you get good actuation. If you set it too tight you will notice missing shots at faster rates where the ram didn't get enough air to trip the sear. -
