    EP Mag question

Hey, I'm building an EP mag with a homebrew board. The SMC S070 noid keeps spitting air or of the vent port. I have it piped properly because the gun does fire when I push the micro switch, but once I get the LPR up high enough, the noid is just spitting air. Any thoughts? Do I need a reverse voltage on the noid when it is in the off position??

If anyone can help shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We need to know the entire setup.

Sounds like a LPR problem I had with a bullet reg.

Logic Vert frame with MPA-3 installed by Mag79. (Awesome job BTW!)
      SMC S070C-SDG-32 noid.
Noid is triggered by my circuit board.

And.. an AIM Paintball LPR that I stole off an old cocker I had. I don't really have another I can test with.

As I dont have an ASA with dual ports yet, I was running the LPR straight off my tank, and the gun off of another tank. This is just testing until I get a proper ASA. Should I try running the LPR with the mid pressure reg from the cocker to test?

        Which valve?

That LPR is rated at 400 psi max input if I know the one you have.

Oh! I hope i didnt kill my lpr! I will tty it with the mid range reg later today. Any suggestions for an lpr that can take a high input?

Palmers LPRs are all rated at 1200 psi input or higher.

              Cool, thanks!

I tried my set up with the mid pressure reg and it did help a bit. The noid still spat the air out the vent, but it did fire the gun more consistently. I don't have a bad noid, do I?

doubt it but it is possible. the only way to know is to try another noid. loosen the body screw a bit and insure you have a bushing in the rail where the field strip screw is as well, this will tell you if it is alignment.

That SMC noid is rated for about 70 psi. Over-pressure could be the "leak". The main trick of using it is to get the LPR set up so that it will let down bottle pressure to about 50 to 60 psi. Like Hill said, Micro rocks do a good job of that. Ticklers and such tend to stick, so that you have to set them higher to be sure there is enough pressure to push the sear. If you have a hair leak in the barbs or noid, they will droop 20 psi sometimes before opening back up. However, they recharge to that higher pressure, which is not good for the SMC.

Fully lubricated and running, you can get away with about 40 psi on a typical pneu RT on/off, but eventually it all sets up and needs higher pressure to break free or multiple trigger pulls to get moving again.

I made a "volumizer" to fit in the frame to try to help the tickler, but found a deal on a micro rock before I ever tested it.

Awesome, thanks for the help guys! I have my gun firing beautifully, but there is still a slight leak from the vent port. I am trying to hunt down a used micro rock to avoid spending almost $80 with shipping for a new one.
