    RT mag leak

I just bought an RT mag. It was venting out the back, and I found it was missing the reg seat oring. I replaced that and now it is venting out of the barrel. What would cause this?

    Thanks

First make sure your velocity us up enough. If not, the on/off will have problems resetting.

Hah, considering your first problem, did you check that you have an o-ring on the on/off top?

I believe so. I guess I should note that this is an RT classic. The gun did actually fire before I put the reg seat oring in, now it does not, however the venting down the barrel stops if I hold the trigger.

If that's the case. It's probably just the Powertube(PT) oring or a wrong size PT spacer.

If that marker is UNK to you, it's best to just find a rebuild kit and replace all the orings. That will alleviate a lot of problems.

So I have replaced most of the orings. It appears the power tube oring was also missing. The problem is I now had to guess on those two orings as to which to use. I now have it leaking out the back again, with the gun only being able to fire if I crank the velocity knob in almost the entire way. It seems maybe its not getting enough air or something.

Clean out the cavity where the reg piston sits. Get Q-Tips, apply a bit of oil on the tip and run it around a few times to make sure you get everything out. Replace the piston oring if you haven't already and try it again. If it continues to leak then you have a bad piston.

Are you running a lvl 10 or have a longer bolt spring installed? If you have a longer spring, try running it with a gold spring instead.

The venting out the back might be from having the velocity adjuster cranked all the way in. It should be about 3/16" or more showing.

Ah. How many springs do you have in the reg? There should be two, one inside the other.
