    Removing back reg on retro

    Just out of curiosity,
what would happen if the back reg on the retro was removed and replaced with just a cap? Would velocity be changed through input pressure? I can already assume that you would loose the reactiveness of the trigger and be more likely to get shootdown. Any know anything about this?

If you gut the reg, pin and all the gun would just start leaking down the barrel the first time you pulled the trigger. The on/off would have no function because the way the reg is designed.

Even if you could seal the on/off chamber from the reg it would have massive shootdown, the recharge rate of the valve depends on the retro valve's ability to charge the dump chamber with the full 800 psi air charge.

If you are going to do this do it with a classic valve.

Yep, Butterfingers is right. You can do it on the AIR valve, but not on the Retro. There's the straight hole from the on/off to the reg. valve pin, which routes air to the piston. If you were to remove the piston, you would need to remove the reg. valve pin and then you have a straight shot of air to the dump chamber. The on/off wouldn't take forever to recharge and I doubt you'd be able to get it to seal when you gas it up.
