Hello all. I'm working on an EgoMag build. I've got the small SMC noid in there. I'm having an issue in that there is air constantly leaking out of the exhaust port in the noid when I increase the pressure from the LPR. I get the pressure to a point where it trips the ram, but it doesn't seem like it's enough to trip the sear. I haven't got the gun completely put together yet, I closed off the air port to the valve, so the air is only going through the LPR for testing. Does anyone have any experience with the noid leaking air like that? Is it a bad noid? This is the first time I have put air through the noid, I have a WGP bullet-type LPR. I had it backed all the way out when I first aired it up and SLOWLY turned it up, so as far as I can tell I don't think I've put enough pressure through it to blow the noid. Any help is greatly appreciated. Oh, and just to make sure, based on the diagram for the noid, the line from the LPR goes into the middle port, and the output going to the ram goes from the top port in line with the wiring.

The little SMCs are good for about 70 psi. Some pneumags with the small WGP LPRs end up set around 90 to 100 psi for reliability. I used a cheap-o air gauge that was made for shop air compressors to check LPR settings. My tickler was sticking to the tune of +/- 20 psi. That's what pushed me into a micro rock. It was about +/- 5 psi (probably better than my gauge). You should be able to run around 60 psi reliably. I have run mine down to 40 psi while shooting, but it will set up after a while at that pressure.
I've heard of the SMCs leaking a bit and recovering. I do feed mine a little synthetic air tool oil that has no fillers (like teflon). Most electro-marker oil should be good in the usual "two drops" every few cases or so.
You should use at least an RT on/off. A ULT would give you more margin, but I don't like the additional fiddling in assisted mags.
On an RT, make sure you are as low as you can get on the sear arm. More leverage gets you less LPR pressure. -
Cool. The SMCs seem to be good about that (over pressure).
If it starts clicking but nothing happens, or it takes three or four trigger pulls to get it to shoot the first time after sitting a while, it's probably the LPR sticking. You might think it backed off, so you turn it up and it works. Mine would do that repeatedly until I marked it and would back it back down after a while to keep the hoses on the barbs on my pneumag.Comment
