    Emag warp not working?

I played with my ETac last week and noticed that when the warp cable was plugged into my warpfeed, the Emag electronics wouldn't work. It would power up just fine. Xmod 1.8 would show that I was pulling the trigger in the test mode. But it wouldn't pull the solenoid.

When I disconnected the warpfeed cable, this problem went away. My solution for the time was to turn my warpfeed vibration sensor on and run with it that way.

    What could be causing this?

I suppose, but I'm not sure. It was working the week before D-Day, but when I got to Oklahoma it didn't work. If it were just the cable I would think that it wouldn't work on the warpfeed. But I can't explain why it all of a sudden kept the solenoid from pulling.

The two leads on the warp cable may be shorted. As the pulse to fire the noid is short, it wouldn't reset the electronics. If that's the case, it would pull the pulse to ground, deadening the signal. I would inspect your cable closely, maybe take the 2.5mm jack apart and check it.

The microcontroller pin that pulses the warp is the same pin that fires the noid, they run in parallel. So if the cable wires are shorted together, you'd be shorting the signal to the transistor as well.

The 2.5mm jack that I used on this one is pretty low quality - I got it off eBay for the simple fact that it's a right angle plug, which is kind of necessary now that I have the on/off switch mod on my warpfeed.

I'll look there first. Thanks for the tip!
