What sort of valve? Classic or X? If Classic does it have a level X or not Level 7 bolt? Sounds initially like it could be bolt stick.

You need to tune your lvl 10. Remove all your shims and go up in your carrier size (Remember to use the same white carrier oring when changing out carriers). If it doesn't leak down the barrel go up to the next carrier, continue that till it vents and go back down to the one that didn't leak. Trip the lvl 10 to make sure it's working and reseting. If not, add one shim at a time till it resets prorperly.

That should fix your bolt stick issue.

Did the marker come with any extra carriers and Orings for the level X bolt? If not, you may want to see if you can either find some through the BST forums here or take yours apart, find out which carrier size is in your powertube and order the two smaller ones and some o rings from AGD.

To add to this, if it vents in any way, then adding shims won't help. Shims just allow it to vent sooner so that any bolt movement forward will allow the bolt stem vent hole to become exposed so that it can release air and reset. Most of the time you will never need shims. The bolt will almost always move far enough to release air in any situation.

First, drop 5-6 drops of oil into the Asa and then make sure you didn't over tighten the fieldstripmscrew. Air it up, and fire it 15-20 times.

how much is not over tighten the screw? its just hand tight. thanks. i had to beat the back of it to reset itself. and my hand is starting to hurt!

im going to order a parts kit and change the cairrer ring out, if that doesnt work im just going to sell it.

Instead of a parts kit, send it to Dave at AGD, and he'll get it back to you in tip top shape.

You should order the parts kit. It is something you should have at your disposal in case of a piece of dirt or debris damaging an oring.

If you had to hit the back of the valve to get it to reset, then the oring is too tight. That means you need to use the next larger carrier size to expand the inner diameter of the oring to reduce the friction on the bolt stem. What size carrier are you using now?
