    Consistency issues with new ULT

I've got a ULE Automag with an x-valve, it came stock with the RT trigger and I've been shooting it with the Ninja Ultra High Pressure reg. It's been fairly consistent (velocity) ever since it's been out of the box, and I've been shooting it around 280fps. Recently I ordered a ULE Trigger Pull Kit direct from AGD. It came stock with 4 shims installed. At the chrony the gun was shooting substantially slower ~ 260fps. With about a quarter turn of the velocity adjuster I was able to get it back to 280fps. After installing the ULT and increasing the velocity the gun is much, much less consistent. It has spiked to 311fps and dropped as low as 240fps. I've read the manual that came with the trigger, add shims for shoot down and FSDO, remove shims for double firing and and full auto. But what about terribly inconstant velocities?
I apologize if this has already been answered somewhere else, but I couldn't find anything regarding velocity and the ULT on any forums.

    Thanks

The ULT really doesn't affect velocity unless it can't open the chamber to recharge for the next shot. The ULT doesn't affect the final pressure in the chamber which is the deciding factor in the velocity that the ball reaches. It only opens and closes the air path from the regulator to the chamber.

If you are getting velocity variation, it is usually related to inconsistencies in the paint or due to something sticking in the regulator. It is probably just a coincidence that it occurred when you changed the on-off assembly.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Thanks for the help, I'll take apart the reg and clean/relube everything and see if that helps.
