    Resurrecting my Emag

I know there is another thread about resurrecting an Emag but I wasn't sure if protocol would approve of me hijacking that thread so I started this one to see if I could get a few quick questions answered as I've got a few parts I need to replace.

First, I need to replace the battery. My Emag was sitting in storage for quite some time and when I opened the battery case I found a nice pile of battery goo inside. I've cleaned it all out and have everything except the battery pack. I have the o-ring for the bottom of the battery case and I have the plastic top part with the connections. All I need is the battery with wire leads to solder to the connections.

I found the battery listed on the AGD store site here but it is out of stock. I also found a thread started by user "KC" here but it seems this user has not been online for a few months.

So, any other suggestions where I might track down a battery for my Emag? The wrapper lists it as a 16.8v 650mAH pack.

The next item I need is a bolt spring. My valve has "Emag" engraved in the side which leads me to believe it is not the Lvl 10 bolt. Measuring the bolt spring I have a length around 46mm and an outer diameter of 20.86mm.

Looking at the online store I found this spring listed under the Vavle and Valve Parts > 68Automag/Classic/ Minimag/Sydarm/Micromag Valve Parts section. I did not find any bolt springs listed under the Valves and Vale Parts > X-Valve/Retro/Emag/RT Valve Parts section. Is this the correct spring to use? I'm fiarly certain it is but would just like to double check with the experts here first.

The next item I need is the bumper found at the rear of the bolt itself. I found both this and this. Are either acceptable?

Last, I need a new barrel. My old barrel is held in place by a 1/4 turn or so and not threads. Went by my local paintball store today and they don't have any barrels like that anymore. Any recommendation of either where I can get a barrels which fits or switch my emag over to threaded would be greatly appreciated.

One last question actually. Since the gun has been without power for so long will I have to reload any software to the gun and if so where would I get it?

Thanks very much for the help.

It may help to post up some pics of the marker with the valve out to determine if it is a level X or not. One way to tell is if the bolt tip has a rubber piece on the end. Also if you take the bolt off the powertube tip will have a slot in it that a coin will fit in if it is a level 7 and a hex head if it is a level X.

As for the battery, it probably would have been good to try and keep it so that you could take it somewhere to get rebuilt. Someplace like Battery Depot. Google something in your area.

If you have a level X you are supposed to use the clear bumper, so you need to determine wihich one you have.

As for the barrel, very few shops will carry AGD twistlock barrels. You have a couple of options. Firist you could buy a Doc Nickels barrel adapter that will allow you to use Autococker thread barrels. You could also check the BST section on this site, there are usually a lot of twistlock barrels for sale. You could also replace the body with a ULE body which is AC threaded.

From my understanding the software is firmware, so it should still be there when you get a new battery.

Yes! Pictures! That would likely help.

Based on how you describe the powertube tip I believe I have the L7 valve which is a big help.

Yep, thats an L7 bolt. Tuna is the man when it comes to Emags. You may want to possibly just send it to him and let him tune it for you.
