I've read a couple of threads about high maintance of Autocockers. There is some mention of "timing". What needs to be "timed" on an autococker? Which other markers require proper timing?

Well cockers are the main marker you need to time.
The four main steps to timing a cocker are:

Setting the back block position
Setting to cocking rod length
Setting sear-lug length (firing point)
Setting the timing rod length (cocking point)
A great place for Autococker info is here:
Ravi's Paintball Place
He knows what he is talking about with cockers..."If everything is under control your not moving fast enough."

Very true, but with some guns like Spyders and mags it's not difficult at all, with mags you don't need to adjust anything but the velocity, unless you play with the sear."If everything is under control your not moving fast enough."
