Level 10 tuning question

Can I in theory instead of firing the marker to break in a new carrier just slide the bolt up and down a bunch of times. Would this work well enough to help break in the oring or does the bolt have to move fast like in the firing cycle.

I was thinking that I could jerk the bolt up and down while watching tv to break the oring in. Then I could put it in the marker to fine tune it and get the right carrier.

It doesn't happen that quickly. You would be wasting your time. If you use the proper carrier you wont need the break in period.
