    Valve probs. Help!

Here is my problem: The two parts of the valve and stuff don't match up. The front section says one half of Automag classic, and the back half (reg.) says half of Minimag What are these two parts, and where can I get replacements. I know one is the regulator, and I want to replace it with the Phase II Air Valve. Will this reg allow for the rear adjustment on the original? Also, what is the front part, and what can I replace it with? Thanks.

Dont even bother with the ANS stuff.... It doesnt do anything special..... And the autmag and the minimag stuff is completely compatable..... absolutely no harm in using them together.

You just have the front half of a classic mag valve and the back half of a mini mag valve. As far as I know the only diffence is laser engraving on the outside. You should'nt have a problem; the parts are compatable. I would stay away from an aftermarket valve. They normally don't help very much if they do anything at all, and it could cause problems. Aftermarket valves may have helped some problems with older pre- evel 7 mags but they are poinless now.

The thing is I'm not sure if it is pre level 7 or not. I bought it like this used. Should I just send it in to AGD and have them look at it? Also is there any way to get it to match up short of buying a new valve assembly (pretty pricy). Looks are a big thing to me.

Your gun is level 7. All standard A.I.R valves, 68, classic, minimag, are all the same.

The RT, ReTro, and Emag regulators are the same, the front halves are unique to them.

Go ahead and keep them together. The stock valves are the best anyway, you'll just waste your money buying any aftermarket reg.

Ok. Cool. But is there any way to get the front and back to match up? Thanks.

Nope. Unless you have a tap and die set and wanna cut some threads on top of your reg's threads (not a good idea, in fact, maybe not fesable.. )

Don't worry. I bet it looks kinda cool anyway. Custom look to it, you know? Besides, they don't look at your valve when they are walking off the field, right? Naaa, they are just looking at you, and wondering how you beat them in that race. Automag baby! Yea.

The mini part is better, you have 4 stars. My classic only has 1.

I believe that AGD will not do any work if the valve halves go not match s/n... some can back me up on that?

They will probably work on it, but you'll have to pay the standard fees.

How much would it cost to have the two halves match up? Would they be able to do it for me?

I would think that your best bet for getting them to match up would be buying a new Retro valve. I'm sure they won't re-engrave the laster on the valve so it would like up for you. I don't think you can erase the old one without milling off a few lays of stainless first.

Just let it go, dude. It's cool, it works good. It's unique. I think it would be cool, man. Everyone will remember you as that guy with the Minimag/Classic valve. It works good, right?

Yeah it works. It is pretty unique too. Gives it character. Only thing is my gun is absolutly devouring CO2. I only get about 400 shots of a 12 ounce tank. That is not normal! Even my 98 gets more shots off a 12 oz.! Is the mag really that big of a gas hog or is something wrong? Thanks. Oh I thought I would note that due to lack of a cronograph i've been playing with the velocity screw all the way in. Even then it doesn't seem to be shooting too fast.

way back in the days i shot my mag w/ the screw all the way in on co2 and shot like 600fps!!! that's why you are shooting up massive amounts of co2

I will get ahold of a crono, but I'm definitly not shooting 600 fps. Also, how much does the barrel matter when it comes to air efficiency. I have a 12 inch dye aluminum, and an 8.5 inch Taso eliminator (I love that barrel!! haven't even used the dye in a game, I always use the eliminator. looks way sweet with my crome minimag).

You should get way more shots than that. Corny your gun. Check for leaks. You can use soapy water on the filling to check the fillings for leaks.

If you have taken that halves apart alot trying to get the names to line up, your seat may be toasted. I'd put a new one in, there are a couple in a parts kit. The regular seat, is about 1 centimeter thick, translucent piece of plastic, and that german hand gernade pin goes though it. Make sure the seat is dry and clean.

If you mag was shooting 600 fps, it would be venting excess out the back like crazy. Man, I've never even seen anything over 420 or so, and even that was moving. I wonder if the paint would even hold together...
