from regular p/f to warp body(cutting down)

i have a hopper left p/f polished body and im pretty sure im gettin a warp, if i get a warp should i cut down the top of the p/f tube to make it like a warp body? or could i send it in to AGD and have them do it or perhaps have them exchange my body for a warp body b/c they cost the same?
