Rust in my reg Piston????

I just played in the Skirmish 10hr mini-scenario on saturday(also my b-day :)and it rained. I'm running a stock valve. Well it seems thiers what looks to be orangeish resado in my reg piston and i'm guessing rust. but if ur able to submerge it in water how is it that water got in my piston??

Very possibly you got 'dirty' air/co2. Was this crud loose, or was it actually rusted components?

I've had gunk get in my gun when I get filled at certain places. I'm now trying to stick to dive shops that filter all that extra crap out, since the air they're supplying needs to be breathable.

its stagnant oil. get a qutip and dip it in alcahl. then clean the oringe stuf with the qutip. itl clean right up:)

Thanks pyro and krafty!! Krafty it was on their good i mean i had to really really try hard to get it off. But it wasn't on the outside it was on the inside of the black part. I'll try the alchohol and let u know.

most of the vavle is made of stainless steel. It doesn't rust.

the air valve is all stainless. the retro is the part stainless one

The piston is brass so it won't rust, but the set screw that holds in the blow-off assembly in the piston is steel so it can rust. Just coat it and your spring pack with grease and they won't rust.
