    Making a bad leak worse?

New to the forum, been on MCB for a couple years. Got a new Tac One xmag with ULT from Tuna about 18 months ago. it has seen the field a half dozen times and about 3 cases of paint through it. it has been cleaned and lubed every time. at my last outing there was a small leak coming out of the back relief vent or velocity hole. Replaced the reg seat oring with no change. it then added a leak down the barrel. When I pressed and held the trigger it stopped, indicating power tube issue. Replaced orings in power tube and on/off. it now leaks everywhere all the time. Still have a leak out the back and when I hold the trigger it chuffs at about 3-4 chuffs per second. I didn't think orings would have gone so fast, but replacing them made it worse.

    Where do I start?

check your o-rings for trash, especially the regulator piston. it doesnt take much to cause a leak.

Are you oiling it? Put 3-5 drops into the ASA, air it up, fire it and see what happens.

yep, totally clean and freshly oiled. coated the orings after install and 3 drops in ASA after putting it all back together.

It will leak out of the back when either the pressure is too high or the relief safety fails. Chrono it to 300 or under. If its still leaking then there is a problem. You might remedy it by using the smallest bolt spring. This will decrease the needed pressure to fire the gun.

              Do you have the diagram?

This is the forum for trouble shooting your Airgun Designs products, including the Automag, RT, E-Mag, and WarpFeed. Also a great place to ask technical questions about non AGD products. An Airsmith's homeroom!

A year and a half old X-valved mag shouldn't have worn out orings. I suspect some dirt got into the valve. If dirt got into the back of the valve, your regulator piston oring could be leaking. This oring could also cause the velocity to become too high if grit prevents the piston from moving properly.

When you replaced your powertube carrier orings, did you retune your level 10 bolt? The powertube carrier oring needs to be adjusted using different sized carriers to make sure the tension on the bolt stem is a minimum value without leaking. If the carrier is too big, the oring leaks all the time. If the carrier is too tight, the oring causes the bolt to stick and not fire or reset properly.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Piston oring was discolored when I changed it. Got the back leak to stop, I think I turned velocity up too high when reassembling. Went down a size on lvl 10, stopped leak, but I haven't finished tuning. Thanks for the help guys.
