I believe there was someone out there that made a printed CF once, but besides that I believe this may be the lightest aluminum rail for an Automag made to date:

Paintball Talk is the main forum for Automags.org. Here is where we talk about the sport of paintball in general and make announcements relating to the forum and website.

Edit: Actually there was another that he made which eliminated the section in front of the frame. Not sure who ended up with that.

As for my "favorite" rail is would probably be the Armada rail just recently made by Luke:

Which rail do you guys prefer for looks? With a shortened ULE body I might add. Will any rail work? (Non-rtp of course)

Check with Luke, he has several different versions of AM/MM rails that he mills. There are a fair amount of options, it's all a matter of taste. Go through the gallery and see what you like. If the post doesn't list what rail it is, post up a pic and someone here can probably ID it.

My favorite would have to be my tac rail. Lightest would have to be...no rail!

I had a Shockteck prototype rail that was the lightest RTP length made - measured up lighter than anything out there.

Unfortunately it was a "1 of 1" item

My favorite with the rpg ones is the am/mm wave rail! Pretty sexy, small and light weight!

Yeah RPG made a few am/mm length rails...mini wave, mini shadow which both use rtp sears. Of course the dallara and they had a stock agd rail which they milled and I think they just call it their RPG ule rail.those use am/mm sear ...these are all nice but harder to track down...Luke's got a bunch of newer designs and most of them are pretty light and look good.

Maybe we should have this topic moved to the paintball chat area so it sees a bit more action...

My favorite rail is the Armada rail. If I was using a 'Pariah' ULE body, I'd run the 8-inch Armada rail so it matches the length of the Pariah body. I decided to go a different route and use my Z-Grip. In order for me to use a bike grip, without having to use a extender I needed to get my hands on a longer rail. Hence the 9.1" Armada rail. Everything fits perfect. Factory clean look without having to use a a extender. I love it.

Deadly Wind made the Dallara if I'm not mistaken. RPG did another run of the Karta, but not the Dallaras. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

im printing a shortened back AM/MM style sear type rail, right now. since layered ABS is not going to stock a reg from unscrewing.

if you want I can build a marker up and shoot it and show you it works.
and/or, I can throw it on my scale and show you how much it weighs, this is printed solid by the way.

I can make it lighter. but don't need to.

a bit boxy but does work,
I have printed this one in full length on the back, and it fires will. no hangups, and no issues.
                            this is solid
