    Need help with a build

Hey guys I have a few questions. Looking to build a mag but my last one was a smart mag in 96 so I am not familiar with all of the new stuff. I am looking to do a black ULE body, dye chrome single trigger frame, and the x valve. Will that combination work? Are the dye frames good or should I stay with stock agd frame? I am not wanting a double trigger and I will be running a revi on it so bps isn't that important. Should I stick with a level 7 valve with level 10 bolt? Just too many options for a guy that hasn't run a mag in forever.
    Thanks guys
    Matt

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

glad to have you back... I just recently completed my first mag build and had some of your exact concerns. You just need to ask yourself what do you need to be happy and go from there. Is weight an issue??.. do you want the valve to "RT"??? if you want to use an X or RT valve then you might as well buy a new X valve and be done with it seeing how the prices of those valves used are nearly new prices. I think if you plan on using a revi then you want a lvl10 equipped valve for sure, if you where using a force feed loader then you would be fine with a seven

Advantages of an X over a Classic valve are that the X is lighter, capable of RT'ing and comes with a level X standard. However, the prices of X valves is also 6x higher. Personally, if you really don't care about higher rates of fire, I would stick with a Classic valve, put an RT on/off in it and a level X on it and call it a day. As for frames, I have never had a Dye frame, and have heard people complain about them. I have heard the same about the 32* frames as well and personally like mine. So take it with a grain of salt. Benchmark also makes a nice single. Luke Customs also offers a 90* single frame and Cougar20 is currently doing a second run of 86* single frames. These are pricey though, so may not be your first option. There honestly is nothing wrong with the stock CF frames.

If you want single trigger frame, look at luke's single trigger frame. So much nicer on your build. You can use the dye no problem.

Thanks for the info so far. What is a dye frame that has been winged? What does that mean?

Winged frame means that the top of the frame where it sits again the rail is not flat. So a winged frame will only work with classic stock automag rails that have grooves under that the wing frame will fit.

So would that work with a ULE body or would I have to use a classic body? Or is there a rail it would work with that attaches to a ULE body. So much info lol

Anyone know if the winged frame will work with a ULE body?
                Thanks

The rail is what you need to worry about with a winged frame. Winged frames will only work on AM/MM rails. They will not work on RTP/Emag style rails.
