Can i cut down the spring washer things behind the bolt to make it engage easier?

if you are referring to the wave spring that goes behind the bolt i would say no. if you are having issues with your gun cocking, there may be another issue. post a pic of your valve.

What bumper are you using?
Blue stock, blue cut down, pumpmag black?

The cut blue is the most common. But I use a clear rt bumper to get a nice soft feel. Yes they wear quick.
