Making sure the balls aren't swollen and that they fit the barrel well. Also make sure they are fresh and not brittle. Does he use a bolt with a foamie? Maybe he lost the foamie and that could be the problem.

Had a similar problem. Air or CO2 made no difference on the paint chop. Finally got the problem solved with a foamie bolt and plastic nubbins.

Get plastic nubbins, a parabolic feed plug, make sure the loader is feeding properly, and try a longnose foamie bolt. This should fix it.

I almost gave up on my Minimag when I first got it. It was the worst experience out of the box. It would chop balls, spit horrible rates of fire, valve would freeze up, etc.

Then I realized what I got myself into. Automags are pro guns, so they need pro gear on them. Right off the bat, The J and J 16" ceramic stopped the ball choppes. The bolt on minimag is perfect, no need to change that. I also got an Evolution feeder, an on/off internal valve changed, and an that did the trick. OH, yeah! NITRO is a must. You don't give your mercedes regular fuel. You must go Premium! CO2 is not ment to be used with an Automag!

These changes made my gun into a progun. If I get a chop, its at the beggining of the day at the test range. Still don't know why that happens, but it only happens once every five times I go out. Othere than that I have had no ball breaks at all. I believe people just didn't watch there video or something.

I had the same problem. It turned out that my revvy (9v) couldn't keep up with my trigger finger. Got a 12v revvy and didn't chop unless I was completely empty in the hopper and I was rapid firing.

First your cousin needs to get a bolt which uses a foamie (I like the superbolt, myself). If you put a foamie on a hardnose bolt, it will restrict the feeding of the paintballs.

I got my superbolt from Don Florenco (screen name donggie).
