    Awww man...p/f mag problems

    Folks-

Well, I received my black teflon p/f mag a couple of weeks ago. And, well, it hasn't been working since I got it.

When I gassed it up, and took a couple shots, I was getting some really bad bolt stick. I figured the spacers were too short, so, I took out the one in there (.220) and replaced it with a .225, and a .230 . The .225 still seemd too short, and the .230 was too long (leaking without the trigger being pulled). So, I figured it wasn't a spacer problem.

I broke the gun down, lubed it up, tried again, no dice. I broke it down again, cleaned it again, found that no seals were broken BUT the sear was completely rounded off .

I figured, this must be the problem. Could any thing else cause this problem?

Where is the cheapest place to buy a new sear from? Directly from AGD?

    Thanks,

    Puppy

I would assume you can order on e from AGD. I doubt they cost very much. Call them and see.

They are $15 (ouch) new on the AGD site...but I can't order one any where on-line from them. I was going to order one from CountyPaintball for $16, but they are back ordered.

      Thanks,

Go to a local shop, or call AGD and order one. They will do COD, but it will cost a bit more, and take check (i think)/money orders if you don't want to use a credit card.

just try a new bolt spring that might do the trick, you can get one from a mag parts kit.

If it is a used gun and the sear is slightly rounded, it is possible that the previous owner also manipulated the trigger-rod length. This could be causing or adding to your problems if it is not set at the correct distance.

I don't know the exact distance off hand, something like 1.89 from front of rod to back of the sear where it connects. Someone else here will know the correct distance.

The bolt spring is fine, I already checked it. I was thinking it could be the trigger rod, too. I'm going to try replacing the sear and see where I end up.

Thanks for the help every one!

Don't bother with the bolt spring unless you want to. The sear is definatly the problem here, if its rounded.
