Cutting down a hopper

I remember somewhere seeing a cut down hopper. I have a vl 200 hopper I'd like to chop & drop. Anyone done this? Some help please.

Are you talking about just cutting down the feed neck? I marked mine with a fine point sharpie right at the point that my feed neck fit 100%. I shoved a piece of PVC pipe in the feed neck that I had for rigidity. Then used a tubing cutter. Tubing cutter does not work without something being put inside for support.
