    X mag oddities

over the summer i purchased 2 X mags, one from member here and one on ebay by trying to keep the value of them up. the first has valve 4820 the second has 4822, 4820 is milled for the quad o ring with the urethane one around it and 22 is not. they both appear to be factory as both are black on the inside of the on/off hole and 22 had a urethane o ring in it when i took the valve apart.

Do they both start with "VV"? Do they both weigh the same? Which one was purchased on AO and which one from eBay?

    Definitely odd.

Never heard of an X-Valve with only one oring up top. Contact Tunaman. Maybe he's seen some. Perhaps you have something special. Maybe it'll be like a misprinted baseball card or stamp and be worth more, or at least a unique conversation piece. It shouldn't affect performance. It just can't take a ULT, which you shouldn't put in an E/X-Mag anyways. I can't remember why they went from one to two orings up top. Was it just to save a tool change during machining?

I assume the valve halves' serial numbers match? Could someone have put an X-Valve back half on an older RTP or E-Mag valve front half? This is why I asked about the weight, but thinking about it more, I believe only the back half used to be steel before X-Valves 7000 series aluminum.

Anyways, I hope you figure it out. Keep us posted. It's got me curious.
