My gun is leaking out of the barrel!

Which power tube spacer is most reliable for the A.I.R. valve when this problem occurs?

      a bigger one...

If your gun is leaking down the barrel you need a larger spacer. You should use the smallest spacer that doesn't leak. That will give you the lightest trigger and still be reliable.

Fritzy, Im pretty sure that a barrel leak is fixed by a shorter spacer not a longer one. Shorter ones are for bolt-stick. And I dont think spacers really do anything to the trigger.

Sorry, but that's incorrect on both counts. A longer spacer moves the ring forward, thus giving it more contact with the bolt. Shorter one moves it back.

The effect on trigger pull isn't really all that much IMHO but it IS known as at least one factor.

Actually, barrel leak can also be caused by a bad power tub o-ring - or even a really ddry power tub o-ring.

I usually change the o-ring and if that doesn't do it, then the spacer.

              correct...

yes, leaking down the barrel is caused by the powertube spacer being too short. Of course, this is only one possible reason for this type of leak. As he was asking specifically about the spacer, I figured he must have tried putting a smaller one in and created the leak. The most common reason people change the spacer is to try and achieve a softer trigger pull.

If you spacer is too long, you will leak down the barrel. If it is too short, you will have bolt stick. If you are leaking down the barrel, a shorter spacer will fix it. If you are having bolt stick a longer spacer will fix it.

I know I am right about the first thing I said, and I would be right on the second thing I said If I had said it like I meant to say it! I didnt mean to say that "shorter ones are for bolt stick" I meant to say that shorter ones cause bolt stick.

And I cant feel a difference with different spacers. If it does affect the pull, then it must be too minor of a change for me to tell.

If it leaks - Go weaker
If it sticks - Go stronger.

Weaker is a shorter spacer and stronger... well you get it now.

                    The OFFICIAL answer.

Too long of a spacer and you have leaks. Too short of a spacer and you get bolt stick. Adjust your PT spacer accordingly.

Fatman and Fritzy, if you don't believe me, read the PT Spacer kit instructions.
