    Classic VS A.I.R.

I was wondering which is the better valve. A 68 Classic with the star or the 68 automag A.I.R. .
I would also would like opinions on why for my learning pleasure.

They are the same thing. It has more to do with when the valves were produced and either had a single warranty star or 3 (as well as 4 in a minimag valve). So its in reference does one say a classic or A.I.R. valve when comparing to a later ReTro, Emag, RT Pro or Xvalve.

While they are interchangeable, an original A.I.R. valve might have some older parts in it, such as a bronze power tube spring, cross on/off top, square-ish power tube tip, and heavier sear. Very early valves had no stars. None of that matters a lot, but it does give you a clue sometimes about the age or updates of a non-"Classic" classic.
