replacing the tiny black o-ring inside the ULT on/off

Is there a "right" way to do this? I recently had to replace mine for the first time and couldn't get the pin out of the on/off assembly. I ended up cutting the old o-ring off (very carefully) and pushing the new o-ring over the top of the on/off pin. It worked, but I'm wondering if there's an easier way to do it.

i believe you are supposed to heat the big end to loosen the loctite they are assembled with.

I've done that and Tuna's method, which is to just stretch it over the top. It seems like a lot of stretch, but it works. I did loose a pin top pulling it apart. I think it still lives in my garage, with at least one RT pin the polishing wheel took from me.

You dont have to take it apart. Just cut the old one off and stretch the new one over the pin.
